On December 1, the new chain of office of the municipality of Noordwijk was handed over to its mayor. Ms Verkleij is very pleased with the new chain and carries it with verve. During the unveiling at the town hall in Noordwijk, people responded with extraordinary enthusiasm to the sturdy and modern design of the abbot's chain. The chain was designed and manufactured by Eric van Limpt Designer Goudsmid in his studio in Nieuw-Vennep. 1240 grams of silver were used for this design. In his design Eric has taken care of the various important characteristics of the "new" municipality of Noordwijk. The four cores of the municipality frame the Noordwijk coat of arms. The Noordwijk lighthouse is central to the chain. The lighthouse is the mechanism for turning the medal so that the national coat of arms can also be made visible. Important symbols for the municipality are prominently placed on the chain. Thus, the links together form a wave that symbolizes the coastal municipality. There are also sculptures for care, bulb cultivation and BepiColombo has a place on the jewelry. A beautiful short film has been made about this new chain, allowing the residents of the municipality of Noordwijk to become acquainted with their new chain of office.
